Penley Panel
As national pundits predicted an economic downturn for the United States, Northern Colorado economists discussed how to protect the area's economic interests. This issue of The Competitive Edge covers such diverse issues as regional employment trends among primary businesses and national wage trends among rock musicians.
This month, CE also focuses on Colorado and considers new research on the economic benefits of Colorado’s mountain peaks and the impact of irrigated agriculture on Colorado’s rural communities. The issue highlights three new CSU studies related to the effects of pollution in Colorado: on common backyard animals, on Rocky Mountain National Park, and on emergency room visits along the Front Range.
Although many of these research findings originated in Colorado, the results can help economists, city planners, and elected officials in metropolitan areas, agricultural communities, and mountain resorts across the country.
